Auchan is an international food retailer present in 16 countries with more than 800 hypermarkets and a mission to stay local in every region, while benefitting from common centralized services. The hypermarkets are huge stores offering everything from food to clothing to home electronics. Auchan recognizes the importance of excellent consumer services and have deployed a wide range of self-service concepts in combination with concepts like click-and-collect through Auchan Drive. The point-of-sales and management of sales transactions are cornerstones for their operations.

The application uses the Extenda Retail Transaction Engine and Extenda’s standard functionality for interacting with external Order Management Systems to provide a true omni-channel experience.
Uniting multiple brands on the forefront of retail
Axfood is a Nordic food-retailing group with a strategy to deliver a tailored customer experience through its multiple brands, such as Willys, Hemköp, Snabbgross and Tempo. Customer value is driven by development of customer programs, digital interaction and local offerings in combination with rich assortments and best-price.
Axood are continuously exploring new technical concepts and was the first customer to pilot Extenda’s device based SCO. Traditional SCOs, with a business type integration, had been part of Axfoods portfolio for years. The new solution, with its clear separation between transaction logic and item validation logic, proved to be far easier to implement and adapt to their environment.
Simplifying everyday shopping for the Swedish people
ICA is the largest food retailer in Sweden with a vision to “make every day a little easier”.
ICA has one of the largest Personal Shopping System (PSS) installations in the world. Since it is based on the Extenda Retail Transaction Engine the integration to the loyalty system is reused in the PSS (as well as the other self service touch points). This results in personalized offers being executed even in the PSS providing an accurate running total and a consistent experience throughout the shopping trip.
Expanding into new markets
Stadium has been in the absolute forefront of sports retailing in Sweden since 1974 and is currently expanding its business into new geographies. With the mission to inspire an active lifestyle and a business concept to offer modern, functional sports and sportswear at the best price, Stadium has developed store concepts and online channels to be customer available at all times, and the point-of-sales has been an integral part in this development.
The solution has been tightly integrated to Stadium’s loyalty system to provide cardless registration, simplified recruitment via the terminal and e-bonus as payment option. Via the packaged Country Module, Extenda successfully and swiftly enabled the Stadium application for the German market.
